On June 16, Professor Franz Raps, China Representative for International Cooperation of Augsburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, together with Wang Jian, Dean of the Sino-German School of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai, and other delegates visited our university. Hui Zhaoyang, Secretary of the University Party Committee, and Ma Xiaoyun, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, held discussions with the guests.

Hui Zhaoyang extended a warm welcome to Professor Franz Raps and his team. He noted that Germany’s dual vocational education system enjoys worldwide reputation. Shaanxi Polytechnic University has established solid cooperation with German enterprises and universities, and is well-positioned for further collaboration in training equipment, teaching staff and learning environment. This visit provides an important opportunity to expand exchanges. He hoped both sides could carry out practical cooperation in curriculum development, talent training, university-enterprise partnership, faculty exchange and student mobility, building a benchmark for Sino-German vocational education cooperation.

Professor Franz Raps introduced Germany’s higher education system, focusing on the talent training model and features of German universities of applied sciences, as well as majors and international cooperation programs at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. He was impressed by Shaanxi Polytechnic University’s achievements in industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation. He commented that the two institutions share similar educational philosophies and major layouts, laying a sound foundation for cooperation. He looked forward to joint programs, dual student training and staff exchange to achieve mutual learning and common development.

Drawing on the experience of the Sino-German School at Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai, Wang Jian shared its practices and outcomes of cooperation with German higher education institutions.

Prior to the meeting, Professor Franz Raps and his delegation toured the university’s training bases, including the CATL New Energy Power Battery Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Technology Center, Machining Technology Training Center and Intelligent Material Forming Engineering Technology Center, to learn about the university’s industry-education integration and practical training.
