Our university claimed the First Prize in the Vocational Education Group at the provincial level in the 2026 “Higher Education Press Cup” short video competition Tell China’s Stories in Foreign Languages with its work Lens Meets the Silk Road——A Youth’s Long March, Frame by Frame.
Co-hosted by Nanjing University and Higher Education Press, the competition is held against the backdrop of the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. With the theme “Meeting the Five-Year Commitment with Youth Endeavors”, it features three thematic sections to encourage students to tell China’s stories in the new era and improve their cross-cultural and international communication competencies.
Under the guidance of teachers Li Ke and Zhang Yixuan, the video was jointly produced by Chinese and international students. Adopting a first-person perspective, it records the creators’ growth from freshman to active participants in university international exchanges and science and innovation events, while showcasing the university’s vocational education aid practices for Africa. Through vivid footage, the work presents the warmth of vocational education and the sense of responsibility of contemporary Chinese youth.
This achievement reflects the university’s adherence to the principle of promoting teaching and learning through competitions, highlighting its distinctive international education strengths and advancing foreign language teaching reform. Going forward, the university will further enrich practical education platforms, give full play to its vocational and international exchange advantages, and foster interdisciplinary talents with global vision and patriotism.
