On July 13, the online training program "Chinese + Vocational Skills" under the Ethiopia-China Workshop hosted by our university concluded successfully.
The 10-week online course was a continuation and deepening of the offline training held in Ethiopia in April. It is another important achievement of our university’s "going global" vocational education strategy. The program covered construction engineering, electrical automation, basic Chinese and Chinese culture, aiming to improve students’ Chinese proficiency and technical skills.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Melese Yigzaw, President of General Wingate Polytechnic College (Ethiopia), and Qin Jingjun, Dean of the School of International Education, delivered speeches. They highly praised the participants’ achievements and expressed expectations for further cooperation. More than 50 Ethiopian trainees joined the ceremony online.
The successful completion marks the effective connection between short-term and long-term "Chinese + Vocational Skills" programs in Ethiopia. With close cooperation between Chinese and Ethiopian teachers and active participation of students, the program explored a new model for cross-border online vocational education.
In the future, the university will continue to deepen cooperation with Ethiopian partners, optimize courses and promote in-depth China-Africa vocational education collaboration.
